For some reason, DMV keeps sending me to a “Star” station for smog. Palo Alto Shell conveniently offers appointments on their website. They also have a nice discount coupon. When you arrive, don’t expect warm and fuzzy; they’re busy and it’s all business. But the job gets done, the DMV is happy, and it’s all ok until the next time. BTW: You can get a great lunch or snack at the new grocery about half a block north up ECL.

They track all my maint, help me remember what I want to do from the last time, have never let me down on my car with 350K miles on it. Also very much like not having to get over there to pick it up during business hours! 24-7 pickup!

The smog check service was fast and efficient. I did have trouble using the "Book an appointment" feature offered by the website's virtual assistant. The assistant acknowledged my request for an appointment, but I never received a confirmation. Fortunately, when I showed up at the station, the manager was able to service my car right away anyway. Be aware, the smog test price has increased from around $40 to $56.75, including the $30 discount.

I work till 6pm and couldnt drop my car off in the morning for my 9am appointment. I was able to drop off my car the night before. Modh was very accomodating and friendly at the counter. He took my key drop envelope and instructed me where to park for the service technician. On the morning of my appointment I approved the work by text. An hour or so later I recieved a text that it was done. I paid for my service and picked up my smog paperwork and car that evening around 730pm where Modh was once again friendly and efficient. Thanks for making it easy and pain-free Palo Alto Shell! ***** 5 stars!
